Eco-Friendly Commercial printers

Sorry for being quiet for a couple of months, I was trying to catch up on some mundane business things. You know how that is, the things that keep you from doing what you love but are necessary for your business to function and grow.istock_000002266764medium

So here is the problem that I ran into. While developing branding and marketing material for some of my loyal clients and some of my new clients, I found that trying to source eco-friendly our sustainable printers proved to be a bit of a challenge. Some of the printers say the are sustainable, eco-friendly printer and some of them truly are, but when it came to small projects they were too expensive. Some quotes for a 1000 4/4 business printed with soy or vegetable inks came up to over $400. Which I think is ridiculous. I don’t know about you, but for regular business cards, even eco-friendly, $400 is a bit steep.
In the Maryland, DC, Virginia area.
Harris LithoGraphics in Maryland is a eco-friendly printer-FSC certified (for big projects, not for small business cards).
Ecoprint, in Maryland – great eco-friendly printer. But when I ask about business cards, that’s when I felt the person on the other end slowly back away from the phone.
Moo cards are great. – only thing is, for now they are the UK, not exactly sustainable. Moo does some cool things with business cards, and you can order as few as 50. I must confess I tried them out for my own cards. The first batch did not register correctly. But a nice email to their customer service department and they shipped out a new set. When they arrived they were perfect. They are opening and office in the US later this year.
Greenerprinter.com, California.
Team Concept Printing-FSC certified.

Are the printers playing down the fact that they are green printers?  It’s a shame if they are, they are missing out on a great opportunity. I also went to the Print Solutions Show in Baltimore. There was a small section called the “Green Pavilion”. I must stress it was small and hidden in the outskirts of the convention hall (no mans land), as if they were being punished for being a bad child. Looking through the Print Solution Directory it was almost impossible to find eco-friendly sustainable printers.

This list of printers is not exhaustive by any means just the ones I have researched our used.

Please send me a list of the sustainable eco-friendly printers you have used.

This is my first response to your group. I have been an environmental printer for 19 years, and I have two websites listed at the top of Google searches.

I specialize in (all) quantities of environmental printing. Business cards
for $60 in 4 color, and flyers, brochures at low rates, run digitally for any quantity, and larger jobs on our offset presses.

I just printed a brochure, 10.5 x 24, folded to 6 x 10.5 (two gate folds), and a 32 page self booklet (A-4) size, for Tony Blair.

Check out my websites.

http://www.ecofriendlyprinter.com
http://www.gregbarberco.com……….. This one is going through a website upgrade, and will have the look of EcoFriendly printer, soon.

For Climate Week, they wanted both jobs in 48 hours. So speed is also important, when your clients are making last minute changes.
We are in NJ, and can reach the East Coast markets easily.

My cell is 973 224 1132.
